Can The Dead Speak With Us?

I was sitting here just a short time ago, trying to make changes to our company blog. Nothing was working. I would upload a picture but it didn’t work. I tried several things with a few themes. Finally, working with one theme, I thought that maybe I needed to crop my header photo. So, I went into the media file and typed 500 in the first box. No lie, this is was the result:

NaN

Now, I’m no rocket scientist but looking at my keyboard, I can easily see that the number 5 and the number 0 are nowhere near these letters. Not only that, it’s strange that the last letter would be capitalized. Or I guess I could say really any letter because I never used the shift button or the caps lock key. Where am I going with this and who is NaN?

I told you this morning that today (ok, it’s late so I guess now that was yesterday) was the one year anniversary of my mom and I talking again. Guess what my mom’s name is? Nancy. That’s right. Nancy. And guess what people close to her called her? Nan. That’s right. Nan. As a matter of fact, when she would sign cards, she would lift her hand to make a break in her name unintentionally so that it looked like “Nan cy” instead of “Nancy.”

Is it possible that my mom was reaching out to me? What do you think? Please respond below with your comments. I can’t wait to hear your opinions on this one!!!

  1. Oh yes, completely. What where the issues you where processing through at the time of contact? You don’t have to tell me, just something to think about.

    My clarity tells me that the Spirit World is not way out there, it’s just right “there”. We are one vibrational frequency and Spirit is another, making it somewhat easy to bridge that gap.
    My blessings to you…

    1. Honestly, I’ve been down all day with today being the anniversary of when we reconnected again, knowing she’s no longer with us. When my mom passed away, there wasn’t really closure. I’ve struggled with the part that I never got to say goodbye and how much I miss her and needed her jn my life for so many years. I wasn’t actively thinking of it when this happened but it’s been there all day in the back of my mind, weighing heavily on my heart.

  2. 1 Chronicles 10:13-14 – So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, [even] against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking [counsel] of [one that had] a familiar spirit, to enquire [of it];

    Leviticus 19:31 – Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I [am] the LORD your God.

    Matthew 24:24 – For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

    1. Amen! Askotis… I agree… God has the answers to every Question to be ask. I goto His WORD for the answers. DEUTERONOMY 18:11, 1SAMUAL 28:1-25, 1CHRONCILES 10:13-14, and PROVERBS 3:5-6 /

  3. Hi. The first point, about NaN, this means “Not a Number”. The web developer of your site must check out the data conversion problem on the fields in which you set up the dimensions of the picture/image to be cropped. That’s just some little geeky stuff to contribute here.
    In the second point, you don’t have to expect that your loving one that has passed away can talk to you. She already left you a legacy, an heritage, something you’ve learned from her and to be taught to your family, friends and as part of your testimony when sharing the Gospel. There are many studies about the relationship between God, the dead and the living believers. Consider this passage of Ecclesiastes 9:5 (NLT) as a key: “The living at least know they will die, but the dead know nothing. They have no further reward, nor are they remembered”. You can’t recall the dead. Their lives are now in eternity. And as I said, and Psalms 116:15 also says, you can keep from your loving ones that now are dead their legacy, good examples, testimony and good deeds for the next generations: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones”.

  4. Good Morning! God continue blessing you as you continue Seeking His Face. Amen! He is Omniscient: He knows everything. He is Omnipresent: He is every where at once. He is also…Omnipotent: He is all Powerful. / Psalm 37:4 I will love to leave with you. “Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. /

  5. I believe God supplies us with Angels all around us. All our lives these Angels are here. Many times since my recovery, I have experienced the same kind of thing as you. God supplies these Angels to keep us focused on the task. The task of loving Him and always practicing His Will. I thought of my father one day. An alcoholic who drove a taxi. I don’t know why I thought of him. I was reading a post immediately after and his name was mentioned with a picture of his taxi. Really?

    1. It is amazing how things like that happen. My mom used to have encounters with angels. She has forgotten all about it until I mentioned it to her one day before she passed. I guess for some we have to wonder if they are coincidences or something else. I appreciate your thoughts on this subject. It’s been a question I’ve had for some time since I became a Christian because I see different beliefs shared among other Christians.

  6. You definitely had a strange experience, but I’m not sure it means you’re Mom is trying to speak to you from ‘the other side’. The Bible frowns on divination and contacting the dead (Deut 18: 10-11), so you probably need to be careful. There are many evil spirits out there trying to influence Christians (Eph: 6:12).
